Driver Arrested for 2nd DUI, Property Damage

The following information was supplied by the Wellesley Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Danny Blyde, 26, of 4 Hampton Road, Stoneham was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol last week following a crash which caused severe damage to his vehicle and public property.

During the early morning hours of April 20, received multiple phone calls reporting an accident on Route 9 near Oakland Street, according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Morse. Callers also reported they saw the driver flee the scene.

Officer Timothy Barros went to the scene and found a parked car with a broken back window, smashed windshield and a large dent in the back, according to Morse. The car’s two left tires were off the rims and parked on the street, while the right tires were in the tree line. Barros saw two street signs had been struck as well. Blyde told police he did not know how the accident happened, Morse said.
