Construction Workers Arrested for Copper Theft at 27 Washington St.

Two construction workers were arrested this week for stealing $28,000 worth of copper wire from the site at 27 Washington St.

announced via its website that Paul L. Beck Jr., 31, of Methuen and Derek Discisio, 37, of Billerica were arrested yesterday after members of the Cranshaw Construction Company reported a break in the construction site, soon to be , an elderly rental facility.

Cranshaw Construction members identified Beck and Discisio on video as subcontractors working on the site, according to the announcement.

Wellesley Police Officer Tim Barros learned last week that copper wire delivered to the site had been stolen from a locked room inside the gate, according to the announcement.

Through his investigation, he learned $14,000 worth of wire had been stolen on two occasions, the announcement said.

“Officer Barros, working with Detective Chris Connelly and members of Cranshaw Construction, were able to compile surveillance videos, and determined that one of the thefts and break in occurred in the early evening hours on December 12,” the announcement said.

Beck and Discisio have been charged with breaking and entering at night, larceny from a building, malicious destruction and possession of burglarious tools, which are felony charges.

They will be arraigned in Dedham District Court today.
