Why Wellesley Makes Us Proud
Columnist Deb Robi writes about what makes Wellesley a great town in which to live.
Think that Wellesley is just an "OK" place to live? Think again. According to Boston Magazine's latest issue, it’s the best place, if you're looking for a comfy spot in the suburbs of Boston.
In fact, Wellesley beats out places like Concord, Weston, Brookline and Lincoln. The chart touting the town's shops and restaurants highlights , and E.A. Davis, and restaurants like , and as being good reasons to live here. The magazine says we have "everything from English gardens to a sandy pond beach," and it is right.
There are plenty of other reasons this is a great town. The public schools are wonderful institutions where thousands of students spend each day thriving and learning. The , Fund for Wellesley and are just a few of many organizations doing good work.

When it needs to, Wellesley pulls together like no other Metrowest community. House prices have stayed relatively stable since the economy went south. The six months ahead of schedule to glowing reviews. The high school newspaper calls it "historic."
I won't be surprised if more young families looking to move in put Wellesley at the top of their lists. A number of town departments have committed to work together for rink that thousands may enjoy. In sad times too, the community pulls together. There have been countless expressions of sympathy as the town grieves the two weeks ago.

Wellesley offers hikers and dog owners places like , , and the nature on the campus of and . These are the reasons Wellesley is a great place to live. They are places so inviting, that Wellesley's neighbors in Natick, Weston Newton and Needham can be found enjoying them daily. And on any given day, Wellesley is energized by the presence of college students from Wellesley College, and .
We have at least three ice cream and yogurt shops and countless pizza places. (The most recent count is nine!) and a variety of other gastronomic offerings. So, the next time someone asks where you're from, be sure to answer them with pride. You're from Boston's "Best Place to Live."
