Obituary: Stephen R. Furbush, Mortgage Processor at Wellesley Bank

Stephen R. Furbush, 39, passed away unexpectedly at home Jan. 12, 2014.

He was husband of the late Kristen M. (O’Keefe). 

Born and raised in Framingham, he graduated from Framingham High School, Class of 1992. He went on to attend Babson College, where he played on the soccer team and graduated from Emerson College.

He worked as a mortgage processor for Wellesley Bank and previously coached soccer at Framingham High School.

He has lived in Canton for the last five years. He was a member St. Gerard Majella Church and the Ponkapoag Civic Association, where he was the two time champion in the Chili Cook-off Competition.

He is survived by his children, Kayley and Patrick Furbush; his parents, Emily (McNally) and Bob Furbush of Framingham; his siblings, Sarah Louria and her husband, Ben, of Queens, N.Y. and Mark Furbush and his wife, Nicole, of Boston; his father and mother-in-law, John J. and Margaret A. (Rizzitano) O’Keefe of Braintree; his brothers-in-law, John O’Keefe of Dorchester and Paul O’Keefe and his wife, Erin, of Weymouth.

Visiting hours will be in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St., Canton, Thursday, Jan. 16, 4 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Friday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Furbush Children’s Fund, c/o Wellesley Bank, 40 Central Street, Wellesley, MA 02481.
