Obituary: Maureen C. Lesuer

Maureen C. Lesuer, of Plymouth, formerly of Wellesley, died Jan. 9, 2014.

She was wife of Robert C. Lesuer.

Maureen was a graduate of Newton College of the Sacred Heart, Class of 1972, and went on to earn her MBA from Pace University in 1984. She worked as director of finance for AT&T for many years before retiring to raise her family and dedicate her time to local charities.

She was member of both the Wellesley Service League and the Plymouth Woman’s Aide, and was a dedicated volunteer at Rosie’s Place and other local shelters, donating her time and energy in any way she could. Maureen was also a member of Wellesley Country Club.

She is survived by her children, Spc. Bennett Lesuer of Fort Stewart, Ga. and Martha Lesuer of Plymouth; her siblings, Kevin and Michele Curry of Hilton Head, S.C. and Kathy and Ray Thibault of Walpole; her nephews, David Lesuer of Livermore, Calif., Maj. Ryan Curry of California, Md., Daryn Curry of Richmond, Va., Ray J. Thibault of Los Angeles, Calif. and David Thibault of Walpole; and her aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and dog Toby.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. Visiting hours are Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley Hills.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
