Obituary: Enid P. (Parsons) Beaton, Wellesley Teacher

Enid P. (Parsons) Beaton, 85, of Dorchester, died Dec. 31, 2013 at the Wayland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. 

Born Aug. 27, 1928, she was daughter of the late Joseph & Enid (Partington) Parsons. Enid was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester.

She worked as a schoolteacher and educated children from kindergarten up to the third grade in Chelsea, Dorchester and Wellesley. She was also a substitute teacher for the Natick School System.

Mrs. Beaton was wife of the late William D. Beaton and together they raised six children of their own and helped foster 43 children.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Natick and a resident of Natick for 45 years.

Enid leaves her children Gail Keith-Fine and her husband Richard of Natick, William Beaton and his wife Terri of Ashland, Christopher Beaton of Natick, Pamela Harris and her husband Stephen of Natick, James Beaton of Wardsboro, Vt. and Barbara Calkins and her husband Scott of Shrewsbury; her grandchildren Rob Keith, Jon Keith and his wife Lucie Baker, Andrew Fine, Jessica Earl and her husband Nick, Tiffany Duguay and her husband Jason, Amy Latourelle and her husband Mike, Mike Beaton and his wife Dyan, Elizabeth Roche and her husband Scott, Nicholas Sullivan, Nicole Harris, Renee Harris, Jacob Calkins, Noah Calkins and Sam Calkins; her great-grandchildren Emersyn, Addison, Jackson, Xander, Olivia, Phinneas, Brady, Kaylee, Ryan, Matthew, Drew, Dylan, Justin and Camryn; her sister Elaine Marzilli of Halifax; and her close friend and caregiver Ann Morris of Natick.

Enid’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick Monday, Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.

Visiting hours will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common Sunday, Jan. 5 from 2 to 6 p.m. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Natick.

Memorial contributions in Enid’s memory may be made to the Natick Visiting Nurse’s Association, 209 W. Central St., #313, Natick, MA 01760.
