MassBay Community College to Host Dr. Rameck Hunt as Part of OneBook Project Series

MassBay Community College proudly presents its 11th year of the OneBook project in 2013.  Designed to engage students, faculty, staff and the general public around a common text, MassBay then holds activities and discussions around that text.  Since its inception, other colleges in the region have used MassBay’s program as a model and have brought the OneBook concept to their campuses.

MassBay announces this year’s One Book title, The Pact: Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream.  Set among the backdrop of the mean streets of Newark, New Jersey, the book chronicles the life of three young African American men.  Tempted by street life and haunted by the violence around them, the three friends one day made a promise to one another to become doctors.  Today Dr. Rameck Hunt, Dr. Sampson Davis, and Dr. George Jenkins are inspiring young African Americans around the world with their message of hope, determination and triumph.

On Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 9:30 am in the McKenzie Auditorium on MassBay’s Wellesley Hills campus, the OneBook schedule of events kicks off with a discussion with Dr. Rameck Hunt, author, storyteller, and board certified internist at University Medical Center at Princeton and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  Dr. Hunt earned his Bachelor of Science from Seton Hall University, his Doctor of Medicine from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and completed a residency in internal medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
