Local Dentists Hold Candy Drive for Troops

Local dentists Drs. Ali and Ali of Wellesley Dental are hosting another Halloween candy drive. They are asking their patients and residents of the community to donate extra Halloween candy for troops overseas.

The candy drive has become a community-wide effort involving schools, local organizations and businesses, the police department and more. The goal is to collect and then donate extra Halloween candy to troops overseas. They also plan to have thank you notes accompany the candy for the troops.

“Our community is too generous. Kids come home with pillowcases full of candy. We’re all for celebrating the holiday, but no one needs that much candy,” Dr. Femina Ali said. “But for our troops, who are so far away, M&Ms and the handwritten cards children send are a little treat that remind them of home.”

Join them at their costume kick-off party the day before Halloween from 4 to 6 p.m. at their office. The party will feature games, prizes, toothbrushes and refreshments.
