Where to Volunteer to Help Serve or Prepare Thanksgiving Meals in Wellesley

The Don Park Thanksgiving Dinner will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 in the Trim Dining Hall at Babson College.

“This year 130 people are signed up to attend and it is always a fabulous time,” said Gayle Thieme of the Council on Aging.

The Wellesley Council on Aging handles registration and ticket distribution for this event. This dinner, which has been filled and cannot accept any more registrations, is for Wellesley residents only. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted. Send a check payable to:Senior Citizens Dinner and mail to Director of Veterans' Services, Town of Wellesley, Town Hall, 525 Washington St., Wellesley, MA 02482.

There are a number of volunteers involved which historically have included Key Club from Wellesley High School, Wellesley Police Department and Wellesley Fire Department. To get involved, contact Dick Dillon at Dillon307@comcast.net.

Wellesley Village Church is holding a Thanksgiving potluck Sunday, Nov. 24. The gathering is open to the community. Sign up at the Community Ministry Table Sunday in Village Common.

On the day of the Potluck,  you may bring food to Village Hall anytime from 9:15 a.m. on. If your last name begins with A-K, bring a main dish; L-R, a dessert; and S-Z, a veggie side dish (no salads, please. The items should serve 10 to 12 people. The dishes will be reheated as needed. Label any dishes you would like returned, and if possible, provide a serving utensil. Mark if the item is vegetarian, gluten free or peanut free and a special table will be designated for these dishes.
