You: Blessed, Worthy, Beloved"

“You: Blessed, Worthy, Beloved” is the title of a family-oriented talk about finding true self-worth to be given by Laura Lapointe of Jamaica Plain, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. Her presentation is free and open to the public.

Lapointe grew up in Lexington, Mass., with a love for both singing and praying. A pivotal moment occurred at age 12 or 13, when she saw a Bill Moyers TV documentary about the song “Amazing Grace.” In various ways since then, she says she has experienced grace and witnessed its profound effect on the lives of others.

Lapointe was led to study theater at New York University, sing in a college gospel choir, work for the Boys Choir of Harlem, and earn a Master of Divinity degree at Andover Newton Theological School.

What she calls her “long and winding career path” has seen her serve as a trained conflict mediator, teach public speaking to Harvard students and at adult education centers, stage a one-woman show (“What Color Are Your Workboots?”), sing with the Boston Pops Gospel Choir, and teach literacy skills and lead Bible study groups in prisons.

Her talk is sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Wellesley. For more information contact, 781-431-2325 or christiansciencewellesley@aol.com.
