Wellesley Swim Association Tryouts

The Wellesley Swim Association
(WSA) swim team is holding tryouts for its 2013-2014 season from 3:30-6:30 pm
at Babson College on Sunday, September 29, 2013.

“As a family, we were attracted to WSA because of the team
approach” says
swim parent and Board President Mark Ward. “This is not a group of
individual swimmers merely trying to improve their times, this is a team
focused on building character, learning how to work
together, developing discipline, emphasizing good sportsmanship and, at
the same
time, improving stroke technique.  It is this combination that has
resulted in such a long track record of success.”

The online tryout registration is open now through September 27, 2013.

Please note, pre-registration is mandatory to participate in the tryout
process.  No walk-in registrations will be allowed on the day of the
tryout.  More information and the registration process can be found on the
team website: www.WellesleySwim.org.

Swimmers must arrive 30 minutes prior to the tryout time stated aboveto
allow ample time to get signed in and complete the rest of the
registration

process. The fee for tryouts is $20 per swimmer.  During the tryout

process, in addition to speed and stroke quality, coaches will be looking at

the swimmers’ experience and maturity, especially for the younger swimmers.

The WSA is a non-profit private swimming team and provides an organized

program of competitive swim training and team competition for boys and girls,

ages 6-18. Members of the team draw from a number of area towns including

Wellesley, Medfield, Needham, Dover and Sherborn.  This past year’s team

was comprised of approximately 180 swimmers.  WSA will have approximately

40 openings this season.

The team is a family-oriented
swim team run by a volunteer Board of Directors and parent volunteers.
The Association arranges for quality training facilities, coaching and swim
meets from October through March.  Currently the team practices at Dana
Hall School, Wellesley College and Babson College.  The team has eight
highly experienced and dedicated coaches.
