Ysaye Barnwell, acclaimed vocalist and founder of Sweet Honey in the Rock, will lead a workshop on finding your own voice. The group will explore African-American culture through a wide range of vocal music including African-American congregational and choral traditions, chants from Africa and the diaspora, spirituals, blues, gospel, and music of the Civil Rights movement and contemporary struggles. Be part of a large, welcoming choir where no experience is necessary.
