Wellesley Voters Approve $3.4M Override, Washington St. Property

Citizens approved the measure during a special election Tuesday.

Wellesley voters on Tuesday approved a $3.4 million budget override during a special election.

Voters also approved the town's purchase of a property at 494 Washington St.

Here are the unofficial results:

  • Question 1 (Washington Street purchase): Yes-3,945; No-3,095
  • Question 2 ($3,345,000 tax override for municipal government and schools): Yes-4,231, No-2,922
The voter turnout was 38 percent. Of the 18,666 registered voters in town, 7,181 cast a ballot Tuesday.
