Where To Take your Tree in Wellesley

If you're looking at your holiday-decorated home, and wondering what to do next, here's what we have.

The holiday season is drawing to a close, and it's time to start thinking about cleaning up. Here's a handy guide for disposal of your trees, emtpy boxes and more (if you don't know where to take it).

The Wellesley Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF), is only open to Wellesley residents with an RDF sticker. You can apply for a sticker at the RDF, more information on the website.

The tree and other types of yard waste can go into the Wood Waste area of the Composting Section of the RDF (near the back of the facility). Make sure you remove the wire and ornaments from the tree before you toss it.

Other yard waste can go into the Compost section of the RDF. See the RDF PDF to the right for more.

Don't forget, throwing trees and yard waste into wooded areas behind your home does count as encroachment.

Corrugated Cardboard

In the Household Recycling area, the Corrugated Cardboard container is where to toss your empty cardboard boxes. Bear in mind that wrapping paper is not permitted in those containers.
