USPS to Conduct Hearing on Possible Closure of Forest Street Post Office Tonight

The post office may close after 80 years.

Representatives from the United States Postal Service will conduct a public nearing tonight to get feedback as to whether the service should close the .

The office, located just outside ’s front gate at 231 Forest St., has been open for 80 years, according to Michael Chmura, spokesman for Babson College.

The branch has “served as an important neighborhood resource, offering a convenient location and fast, personalized service,” Chmura wrote in an e-mail.

The hearing begins at 6 p.m. in Olin Auditorium – located on the ground floor of the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business – on the Babson College campus.

The Babson Park Post Office made a of office the USPS is looking into closing last July. Several on the campus had as to whether they would care if the office stayed open.
