Today is the . The potent summer storm swept through the area downing trees, flooding streets and temporarily cutting off electricity.
While the storm was not as bad as predicted around Massachusetts – it was downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm once it made landfall in the area – it still left its mark.
A historic tree on the property . Fuller Brook overflowed near Rice Street. Branches were strewn about the streets.
The subsided around 6:30 p.m., and power was restored to the town by Monday, but the damage was visible for a few days.
