Tropical Storm Irene in Wellesley: One Year Later

Can you still see damage from last year's tropical storm?

Today is the . The potent summer storm swept through the area downing trees, flooding streets and temporarily cutting off electricity.

While the storm was not as bad as predicted around Massachusetts – it was downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm once it made landfall in the area – it still left its mark.

A historic tree on the property . Fuller Brook overflowed near Rice Street. Branches were strewn about the streets.
