Question of the Day: Should There Be More Sobriety Checkpoints on Route 9?

Tell us your opinion in the comments.

This morning, Wellesley Patch reported the weekly , which highlights the arrests of the prior week.

In a typical week, there will be at least one arrest made of a driver on the portion of Route 9 that runs through Wellesley. Often there are arrests made for driving under the influence of alcohol.

In May 2010, Wellesley Police collaborated with the Massachusetts State Police on a on Route 9 at Lexington Road. The agencies arrested 10 drunk drivers in the span of four hours.

Though the police do a good job at monitoring Route 9, should there be more of these random, unannounced checkpoints in the area?

Wow1 10 drunk drivers in 4 hours,.Good job. Yes, when they can take that many "accidents waiting to happen "off the road , then It's worth it .
