Re: Display in front of Town Hall. Ramadan ended in September. This is the season of Christmas and Hanukka. Putting a crescent moon with the menorah and a Christmas tree makes absolutely no sense. I guess political correctness has replaced common sense in this Town.

Word from Town Hall is though the crescent moon is positioned next to the Christmas Tree and menorah, it is just a "symbol of the Muslim faith."

Seems like a weak argument. If this is just a display honoring various religions, why are the other prominent religions left out? I am sure that there are many Buddhist and Hindu people in Wellesley.

You raise an interesting point, Tips. We'll try to get you an answer.

Since when is a spruce tree a symbol of Christianity? The tradition of decorating trees came from the Pagans. The hodgepodge display at the Town Hall seems to me to be misguded attempt to be politically correct. Anyway, Merry Christmas to all. There, I've said it.

It is a fact that Christain and Jewish faiths are not compatible with Islam or Shariah. An Islamic objective is to dispense with (and monitarily tax) other faiths. Islam wants Isreal "pushed into the sea". It's too bad that this crescent sign can stand peacfully next to a manorah while those that it represents would wish to tear that manorah down. Merry Christmas.

Grotesque and senseless to place an Islamic symbol next to a Christmas tree and a Menorah. We have become such dhimmis. What's the deal, Wellesley, did CAIR threaten a lawsuit?
Robert Taylor December 18, 2010 at 08:15 PM
If the crescent moon wasn't acknowledged muslims would complain and sue and scream islamophobia. Try putting up a Christmas tree in muslim majority nation... Or the Star of David in Malmo, Sweden. You'll end up dead, legally.

The slaves-to-Islam citizens of Wellesley actually put up a crescent moon, symbol of the Muslims' pagan moon god, next to a Christmas tree, an evergreen, symbolizing Jesus, and a Jewish Menorah. Unbelievable. You pathetic slaves to mass-murdering Islam. Shame on you. America is NOT a Muslim country - THANK GOD. Which is why we're so great. Look at the Muslim countries - you think we should be like them? In Islam Jesus is nothing but a slave to Allah. A slave. And of course everyone knows that Jew-hating is mandatory in Islam. Read the Koran - A Manual of Jew/Christian-hating. Whoever put up that moon has sawdust for brains, and is a slave to the Barbarians.

Disgusting that the crecsent is up! They would never let a cross up in their countries and they would kill if they saw a manora. Down with political correctness and the crecsent!
Richard Cannon December 18, 2010 at 11:18 PM
It was a mistake to put up the crescent moon at this time of the year since Ramadan ended in September. Now the Town Hall is stuck trying to justify their stupidity. Actually, it would be a mistake to put up a symbol of Islam at any time of the year, seeing how Islam is an ideology of violence masquerading as a religion.

Political correctness is a weapon we have handed our domestic enemies. Law suits, legal actions, political pressure, using our system against itself. "By their hands..." The Quran.
