5 Things You Need to Know: Dec. 28

Five things including a dance, some painting and a bit of web code.

1. After some snow showers and sleet last night, there is some sun set to poke through the clouds today. Mostly sunny today with increasing clouds leading to a chance of snow on the weekend. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures between 34ºF and 21ºF.

2. If you have a website, and want to put some of the latest headlines on it, Patch does have a Widget maker on the site. This will put a small side-bar on the website with the latest Wellesley stories. Learn more on the Widget page

3. Want to dance with a movie star? From the 2011 "Footloose,"  on June 3. If you're interested, you will need to sign up. It will be at 70 3rd Ave in Waltham, and will set you back $125.00

4. For those unfamiliar with wax as a painting too, local artist Amalia Tagaris is running Encaustic Painting Workshops at her studio in Gorse Mill Studios. Starting at 10 a.m., for $75, you can learn more about the style with a beginner class or some time to explore the painting.

5. Get yourself an evening off, and bring the kids to Dedham Health & Athletic Complex for Kids Night! They have a rotating calendar of activities, and they're accepting kids from 5 to 12 from 5 p.m. on tonight. $30 is the cost.
