William Vogele, Ph.D., who served as the Dean of the College since 2011, joined Pine Manor in 1996 and is a key member of the Pine Manor community. He will be resuming his faculty position as head of the program in Social and Political Systems.

Prof. Vogele earned his Ph.D. in Politics from Brandeis University and a BA in Peace and World Order Studies from Colgate University, and has been an active scholar of international relations and peace studies. Prof. Vogele’s current work focuses on the challenges of building democratic cultures and institutions in post-conflict transitions and in the face of civil violence. Throughout the years Prof. Vogele, a gifted teacher and mentor, has demonstrated his passion and dedication to our college’s mission – we are grateful that we will continue to benefit from his insight, experience and hard work.
