Needham Bank Teams Up with Wellesley Recreation to Provide Outdoor Ice Rinks

Needham Bank is a proud supporter of Wellesley Recreation and the services they provide. Through a recent donation of $10,000, Needham Bank was instrumental in providing the necessary funding for three public ice rinks located across from Wellesley High School which have provided countless hours of outdoor activity for children, students and residents in Wellesley.

Needham Bank’s donation will support the rinks this year and next. The larger rink provides kids with space to play hockey and two smaller rinks provide recreational skating for all ages. The importance of having the rinks was to provide a safe place for residents to skate. The successful program has run for 8 years.

Jan Kaseta, Director of Wellesley Recreation, remarked that “establishing partnerships with local businesses is essential in building a strong community. The Recreation Department’s partnership with Needham Bank allows us to provide activities and programs that enable us to work towards our goal of building a stronger community. We value our relationship with Needham Bank and hope to continue providing new opportunities for our community.”

“We’re happy to partner with Wellesley Recreation, an organization that has provided so many great opportunities for the Wellesley community. Our relationship began in 2008 when Needham Bank facilitated funding for the installation of two turf fields at The Sprague Complex,” said Eric Morse, First Vice President at Needham Bank. He continued, “As a community bank, we are dedicated to supporting local organizations in the towns we serve. By enriching the Wellesley community, we believe we are promoting shopping and banking local.”
