LINX's National Girl Scout Day Workshop Inspired Girls of Wellesley and Surrounding Towns

LINX’s National Girl Scout Day Workshop Inspired Girls of Wellesley and Surrounding Towns

WELLESLEY, MA – March 27, 2014 – LINX hosted its 4th annual National Girl Scout Day Celebration on Friday, March 14th from 5:45pm - 8:30pm, to benefit the community of girls in and around Wellesley, MA.

The evening celebrated “girl power” as four troops of Girl Scouts rotated among different workshops, led by LINX instructors, for a fun and educational evening of dance, voice, teambuilding, art and sports. While the workshops provided an opportunity to learn something new or to add onto skills they already have, there was the promise of camaraderie as the girls celebrated the club that has done so much for the community, and which has given them a heightened awareness of their importance in the world. Michelle Kim, Special Event Coordinator at LINX, looks forward with great anticipation to the event every year and stated,” I love National Girl Scout Day, not only because it's such a fun event for the girls (and parents), but also because it offers the girls an opportunity to celebrate being a girl! As a Wellesley College alumna, I know how important it is for young girls to build their feelings of self-confidence and self-worth at an early age and I am proud to be able to offer this opportunity to your girls. With the special support that Girl Scouts provide, they are certain to continue on the right path to success!”
