LINX Camps' Junior Theater Campers Take on the Classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for an Entertaining Camp Experience

LINX Camps’ Junior Theater Campers Take on the Classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for an Entertaining Camp Experience

WELLESLEY, MA – June 12, 2014 – LINX Theater Camp has announced that its junior students in Kindergarten through 1st grade will learn and perform the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the end of the first and third summer theater sessions at LINX’s Dana Hall Campus in Wellesley.

The ever-popular Brothers Grimm fairy tale classic was chosen for this year’s junior members because of its lively and entertaining qualities and adoration by the young age group. Other shows performed by the junior theater department this summer will include Rapunzel while the senior theater department (2nd-8th) will also perform James and the Giant Peach. The four camp sessions take place between June 23rd and August 15th. Campers receive expert instruction, with half the day spent on specialty sessions. A typical day (9am – 4pm) includes three daily theater intensives, a lunch period, swim period, and a bonus camp activity period. Each two-week session features a full performance for parents and friends.

New to the Jr. Theater camp for Summer 2014 is Katie Speed, theater artist and educator from Westborough, MA, who has earned her BA in Theater Education from Emerson College and MA in Applied Theater from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. "I am thrilled to be overseeing the Jr. Theater department this Summer at Dana Hall! It will be such a treat to stay connected to many of my LINX students over the next few months and watch as they continue to grow as performers!" LINX also welcomes Madeline Ford, a recent graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and active performer in the area. During her time at NYU she studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Stonestreet Studios while performing in many plays and short films. Madeline is very excited to combine her passion for theater with her love of working with children this summer!

LINX, now in its 8th year of operation, offers performing arts classes and camps to challenge and encourage the development of LINX members who dream of being stage-actors, movie stars and TV personalities.
