Ribbon Cut on Wellesley's Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts

The town gets a sweet treat as the fifth Dunkin Donuts location in Wellesley opens.

If you ever wanted to get a donut ice cream sundae, then Central Street in Wellesley may be the place.

The new Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins location there opened today, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m.

Phantom Gourmet host Dan Andelman, New England Revolutions player Chad Barrett Dunkin Donuts President Paul Twohig,  and the Dunkin and Baskin mascots joined local officials, police and Dunkin Donuts staff for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by some ice cream cake.

The location was approved in May, and the opening speech thanked the Board of Selectmen and other local officials for their work in bringing the ice cream and donuts to the center of Wellesley.

Dunkin Robbins, through Twohig and Andelman, also presented a giant check for $1000 to benefit the Wellesley Food Pantry.

The Baskin-Donuts location is Wellesley's fifth. There are the two located on Route 9, near the border with Natick, 951 and 978 Worcester Street, along with 277 Linden Street and 12 Washington Street.
