There must be something in the water, because a national survey ranked two Wellesley companies among the top 150 places to work in the nation.
Wellesley businesses Roche Bros. and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare joined 11 other Massachusetts companies on the list of best businesses to work for compiled by WorkplaceDynamics of Exton, Pa., according to a report in the Boston Globe.
Wellesley was snubbed by the Forbes "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, however.
Th factors considered in WorkplaceDynamics' rankings include the organization’s leadership, direction, and connection to its employees, Doug Claffey, chief executive of WorkplaceDynamics told the Globe.
Some of the keys to employee happiness, according to the report, include "making employees feel appreciated at work and connected to the company," Claffey said in the report.
Wellesley's Harvard Pilgrim Health Care came in 105th, and Roche Bros. ranked 112th in the survey, which was compiled by 30 newspapers across the country, including the Boston Globe, according to the report.
The top ranked business to work for nationally is Quicken Loans Inc. of Detroit, and the highest ranked Massachusetts firm is Cambridge's Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Co. at number 12.
Other Bay State business to make the list include Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates of Newton (103rd), Watertown companies athenahealth (45th) and Tufts Health Plan (98th) and South Shore Hospital in Weymouth (118th).
