Wegmans Announces Open Date for Chestnut Hill Store

The wine, beer and spirits part of the store will open in March. The store grand opening is in April.

The big day is almost here. 

Wegmans Food Markets announced on Tuesday that its Chestnut Hill store will have a grand opening celebration on Sunday, April 27. The 10,500 square-foot wine, beer and spirits shop part of the store, which will be on the second floor, will open on Saturday, March 29.

Wegmans Chestnut Hill is recruiting employees for full- and part-time positions at its second Massachusetts store, which will be located on Route 9 as part of Chestnut Hill Square. The whole store will be about 80,000 square feet and will be across the street from the Chestnut Hill Mall.

“We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening date of our new Chestnut Hill store, one that we’ve been looking forward to for some time,” said Rich Boscia, store manager, Wegmans Chestnut Hill. “The Greater Boston community has already welcomed us with open arms. We can’t wait to provide our Chestnut Hill customers with the incredible customer service and the unique shopping experience that people have come to expect from Wegmans.”

Full-time positions are available in customer service culinary professionals. There are 350 part-time positions available.

Wegmans will also host several career info sessions, and interested applicants can sign up to attend a session by calling 1-877-WEGMANS (934-6267).

In addition to the location in Northborough and the new one in Chestnut Hill, Wegmans is also planning to open in Burlington and Westwood and has plans to open in the Fenway part of Boston.
