Visions for Vacancies: What Should Replace China Sky?

As one door shuts, could another one open? What would you want to see in Wellesley to replace the reportedly outgoing restaurant?

Launched in 2004, China Sky recently closed its doors with a note saying they were making repairs--however, that may not be the case.

Reports indicate the Forest Street restaurant is not just "closed for repairs," but gone for good. The Swellesley Report updated their story on the closing yesterday. Swellesley also says inquiries have come in from a number of sources expressing interest in the property.

So, we're turning to you: If you could choose, what would you put there? What would you like to see on Forest Street?

Something like the Sunshine Dairy, where people can sit at the counter and order a burger and fries or a shake, a tuna sandwich, etc at reasonable prices. An old fashioned diner.

How about Tian Fu??!! Remember them? Better Chinese food than China Sky, for sure!

I agree with Vineyard Worker. A reasonably priced restaurant, with basic all-American food where people can sit at a counter, would be a refreshing addition to Wellesley. Joanne Erhartic

I agree with Jim from above -- Wellesley needs a local pub/restaurant. A locally owned successful restaurant like The Local (original location in West Newton) would thrive. Or second location for Newton's own Dunn Gaherins pub would be great. Please no bank or real estate office!

We could use another Japanese restaurant or bank.....maybe not. How about something like O'Hara's or Biltmore in Newton??

I second. No banks or real estates please.

I like that idea as well.
