Cafe Mangal To Serve Gifts at Muna

The owners of the revered Mediterranean lunch spot have opened up a gift shop next door.

The owners of want to bring more than just the tastes of the Mediterranean to Wellesley.

Berna Ozargun, owner of Café Mangal with her husband, Omer, have opened up Muna, a gift store specializing in Turkish goods at 555 Washington St.

The couple brought back handmade items from a recent trip to their native Turkey including pottery, silk scarves and jewelry, pillows and household accessories, according to an e-mail statement.

“Customers appreciate that I’m sharing my culture and handcrafts as well as memories from my trips while they shop,” Berna Ozargun said in the statement.

Muna – which means “brilliant in Turkish – was Berna Ozargun’s mother’s nickname.

The shop is open daily this summer from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and by appointment. Fall hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Customers can access the store by using the 555 Washington St. main entrance or through Café Mangal.
