Wellesley High Alum in "The Voice" Top Six

Class of 2004 Wellesley Graduate, Michelle Chamuel makes the final six in NBC's singing contest.

It sounds like "The Voice" could be coming from Wellesley High School this season.

Apparently NBC viewers think so, as a Class of 2004 graduate, Michelle Chamuel is one of the final six competitors. She survived a double-elimination, and fellow competitors Sarah Simmons and Judith Hill were sent home.

The Globe reports that Chamuel's emotional performances have impressed the judges from week to week. Chamuel has been coached by R&B star Usher this season.

She graduated Wellesley in 2004, and went to University of Michigan from there. The Swellesley Report asked her if she had performed much at WHS, to which she said she "mainly sang in secret." "The Voice" is not Chamuel's first musical foray, among other musical projects, she was in a band called Ella Riot, which released an album and a handful of EPs under the name My Dear Disco.
