Wellesley College Puts Barrett/Browning Love Letters Online

Sources report that the 19th century poets' letters to each other will be made available today.

offered a Valentine’s Day gift to the internet today: a collection of love letters between two esteemed 19th century poets.

The “Browning Collection,” a series of 573 letters between poets Elizabeth Barrett and husband Robert Browning, were published today via Wellesley College’s English Poetry Collection, according to the Boston Herald’s AP story and a school statement.

According to the college’s website, the collection features “complete digitized versions and transcriptions of the courtship letters and their envelopes.”

The collection was compiled in collaboration with Baylor University, home of the Baylor’s Armstrong Browning Library collection.
