Wellesley Ranked in Top 20 Safest Towns in Mass.
The Safewise.com list highlighted Wellesley's low crime rate and commitment to offering recreation activities.
Wellesley was ranked No. 18 on a recent list of the 50 safest communities in Massachusetts.
The Safewise.com list, released last week, highlighted Wellesley’s low crime rate and commitment to offering recreation activities. Safewise is a home security review resource.
Wellesley earned the top spot on the list. Newton was ranked No. 38.
”(Wellesley is) a town where natural resources are cherished,” the report found. “Wellesley’s commitment to nature includes neighbors helping neighbors enjoy the great outdoors. The town’s Trails Committee helps coordinate free nature walks on trails that wind through some of the town’s most spectacular open space.”
Safewise.com reported the following statistics for Wellesley:
- Violent crimes per 1,000 residents: .42
- Property crimes per 1,000 residents: 7.43
