5 Things You Need to Know: Empow! Books and Office Hours, and More!

Five Things for Needham and Wellesley on July 15.


1. The National Weather Service predicts you can expect a sunny, hot day. A high of 93ºF and some patches of fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, the day should be sunny and clear, the night clear and temperatures should drop to 68ºF with some overnight fog.

2. Want to bring your issue to a higher power? State Representative Alice Peisch is coming to Wellesley Free Library today, office hours running from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. If you can't make it, but still wish to speak with her, call 617-722-2070 or emailing Alice.Peisch@mahouse.gov.

3. Empow.Me is bringing its summer camp programming to Needham today. Your kids have a chance to learn video production, play with LEGO Mindstorms, and play some digital music. See the event listing for more information.

4. It's Monday Mania at the Needham Community Council Thrift Shop. Mania in that they are extending their hours! From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, you can swing by and pick up a gently-used outfit. Can't make it today? They are always open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. 

5. Reading the latest bestsellers? Waterstone is hosting Wellesley Books today, Lorna Ruby from the store is coming and bringing her passion for books and the knowledge of the independent bookstore at 2:30 p.m. They are also hosting musician Ethan Stone at 7:30 p.m. Both events are free, but they ask you to RSVP by calling 781-235-1614.
