ARTEFACT Home|Garden Collaborates with Non-Profit Organizations in Support of Local Hunger Relief and Food Access Efforts

ARTEFACT Home|Garden of Belmont, Massachusetts is pleased to announce its support of two non-profit organizations this September that benefit local families in need: The Massachusetts Horticultural Society’s Downton Abbey-inspired “Garden Party” on Sunday, September 15th at the historic Elm Bank in Wellesley, and Waltham Fields Community Farm (WFCF) day on Saturday, September 21st at their Belmont shop.

The Downton Abbey-inspired event is taking place from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm and benefits the Society’s Garden to Table program, which provides fresh, locally grown produce to two local food pantries and offers the public the opportunity to come together in a beautiful setting to learn about growing, cooking and preserving healthy food. Artefact is providing planters and urns for the main walk and patio at the event and donating 20% of container sales to the Garden to Table program.  Purchases and orders can be placed during the “Garden Party” or by calling Artefact Home|Garden throughout the month of September.

The planters and urns being offered by Artefact are made from pummeled stone and resin making them lightweight and weather resistant.  Many of the pieces are cast from estate originals, including pieces from J.P. Morgan’s Wall Hall estate just outside of London and the New York Botanical Gardens.  They are perfect for both indoor and outdoor use; several of the pieces have been prominent at the White House during the holiday season.   All pieces are handcrafted in the US.

“Mass Hort’s Elm Bank is an amazing place – mixed with ‘Downton Abbey’ it’s going to be exceptional” says Maureen Walsh, owner of Artefact Home|Garden.  “We are thrilled to support programs providing food access and education – The Garden to Table is filling a real need in our communities.”

Guests attending the Downton Abbey event will have the opportunity to explore the exquisite gardens of the reservation, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, watch a match by New England’s premier cricket team, participate in a Downton Abbey trivia contest, and compete for wonderful raffle prizes. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Garden to Table program.

In addition to its sponsorship of the Garden to Table program, Artefact is hosting the Waltham Fields Community Farm day on Saturday, September 21st. The WFCF is focused on supporting local hunger relief and food access efforts by providing fresh produce to emergency food programs in the Greater Boston Area; and operating a special farmer's market for low income residents of Waltham. This annual event will be held at the Belmont shop and a 20% discount on any purchase will be offered to customers throughout the day with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the WFCF.

ARTEFACT Home|Garden is an artfully curated collection of unique furniture and lighting, tableware and textiles, garden containers and ornaments and quirky but-oh-so-practical objects.  Exciting lines such as Verellen, Joe Cariati, Pennoyer Newman, Airedelsur, Montes Doggett and Campo de Fiori as well as works from the ateliers of emerging designers and artisans are available.   Juxtaposing sophisticated design with unconventional style in an airy loft-like location, ARTEFACT is a must-visit for everyone with a love of good design.
