"Putin: President, Personage, Potentate," a Panel at Wellesley College, Tonight 8PM

Is Russian President Vladimir Putin truly “the world’s most powerful person,” as stated in Forbes magazine? If yes, then how did he achieve that power, to what end, and by what means does he exercise it? What are the sources of Putin’s continued popularity? Vladimir Putin is to be the subject of a panel discussion by two leading experts from Russia to be held this evening at Wellesley College.

The panel, titled Putin: President, Personage, Potentate and hosted by the College's Russian Area Studies Program, will feature distinguished guests Ivan Kurilla from Volgograd State University and Maria Lipman from the Carnegie Moscow Center. The discussion will begin at 8 p.m. in the Clapp Library Lecture Room. This talk is free and open to the public.
