Wellesley Upstate, presents The Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst, chronicles the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show runs December 7-9 at Wellesley College.
Tony Award-winning show, the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes, follows a quirky yet charming group for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.
Wellesley student Alexa Keegan '14 directs the production. All productions by Wellesley Upstage, Wellesley College's student theater organization, are student acted, directed, and designed, and range from world classics to contemporary drama.
