Ang Lee and James Schamus: A Conversation Between Film Greats
Internationally renowned film director Ang Lee and long-time collaborator James Schamus visit Wellesley College October 26. Free and open to the public.
Internationally renowned film director Ang Lee will visit Wellesley College this Saturday, October 26, at 10:30 AM. Lee, who has won two Academy Awards for Best Director (2005, Brokeback Mountain; 2012, Life of Pi) and one for Best Foreign Language Film (2000, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) in addition to numerous prestigious prizes from European and Asian film festivals, will be joined by long-time collaborator James Schamus.
Schamus is the screenwriter of most of Lee's films and the CEO of Focus Features, a major independent film company. He is also a well-known film scholar, having taught at Columbia University for more than 20 years.
The conversation between these film greats will be moderated by Mingwei Song, Assistant Professor of Chinese, who has taught Lee's films in various classes. Lee and Schamus will also take questions from the audience.
