A Newbery Honor award-winning writer of books for children, Andrea Wang’s heartwarming new middle grade novel revolves around the adventures of a Chinese American tween, Phoenny, during her final, transformative summer at Squee, her beloved Chinese cultural summer overnight camp. “Blending moxie and grace ... Phoenny’s lovingly detailed, introspective viewpoint will positively influence readers’ awareness of their own emotional and cultural landscapes.” (Kirkus, starred review). Andrea Wang is originally from Massachusetts, graduating from Wellesley College in 1992. She now lives with her family in Colorado.
 Parking will be available in the&nbsp;Event Parking Lot near the Campus Center. Please use the Central Street entrance to the College.

Voices Carry: Pride Empowers! Photography Gallery Show Free Admission

Tolles Parsons Center

The acoustic folk-rock duo Creeque Alley, featuring regional musicians Dan Kirouac and Sean Fullerton, will bring their 1960s folk-rock presentation to the Tolles Parsons Center (part of the Wellesley COA) on Tuesday, July 9th, at 1:30 PM.
The Center is located at 500 Washington St. (route 16) in Wellesley.
With a variety of guitars, harmonicas, and two-part vocal harmonies, CREEQUE ALLEY performs the songs with instrumental and vocal accuracy, and add interesting facts about each song. It’s an entertaining and historical look at American folk music and folk rock of the decade.
The program is open to members of the Wellesley senior community and others as space and interest allow. For more info, or to inquire about reserving a spot, please call (781) 235-3961.
