True North Presents 'Aaron Copeland: The American Voice'

8 Fenway, Boston, MA | Get Directions »
FREE

Aaron Copland remains today one of the most important 20th century composers in the United States. After studying in Paris as a young man, Copland came back to the United States and began to forge a personal and particularly American style.

Join North Hill, the next evolution in senior living, and discover – through discussion and performance – a truly American art form.

Learn how Copland’s famous compositions, including “Appalachian Spring,” “Billy the Kid,” “Rodeo” and the “Lincoln Portrait” aptly capture a distinct American sound. Professor Elizabeth Seitz leads the class with live performances by students and musicians from The Boston Conservatory.

The course part of the True North Music Series and is open to all active adults in the Boston area. Sponsored by North Hill, located on the Needham/Wellesley line.

This program is free, but registration is requested. Register online at www.northhill.org/courses
by email (RSVP@NorthHill.org) or by phone (781-433-6400).
