1. The long-awaited presidential and local election is tomorrow. 2. U.S. Senate candidate Democrat Elizabeth Warren was in Wellesley Friday. 3. A few commenters raised an interesting point: was it OK that a town building was used for a campaign appearance? 3. However, there is some debate as to whether the Hills Branch library is publicly or privately owned. 4. Neither the Board of Selectmen or School Committee will meet this week. 5. There was talk of another major weather day Tuesday, but that appears to have cleared up. Though there is a prediction of another storm later in the week.

1. The kids are back in school today and a bit of normalcy may return to the community at last. 2. Police have said the town should continue to go about trick-or-treat activities as planned tonight. 3. If you have lots of waste, the RDF will be open until 3:45 p.m. today. 4. 1. Trees fell in every corner of Wellesley yesterday as result of Hurricane Sandy's winds. 2. At one point, WBZ Radio reported Wellesley experienced gusts of 85 mph. 3. Following Hurricane Irene in August 2011, the Recycling and Disposal Facility opened for additional hours so that residents could dispose of the debris. There has yet to be an official announcement but there may be one upcoming. 4. While there were power outages throughout Wellesley yesterday, the Wellesley Municipal Light Plant got power back up throughout town by midnight. 5. Stay tuned to Wellesley Patch for updates …
1. Get the books and board games ready, Wellesley schools are closed for the day due to Hurricane Sandy. 2. How will you spend your day off? 3. During last year's freak Halloween snow storm, parts of Wellesley lost power but the Municipal Light Plant managed to have the lights back on in under 24 hours. 4. 1. Wellesley College will host a debate for candidates running for the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District seat being given up by Democrat Barney Frank. The event is sponsored by the Wellesley League of Women Voters. 2. Last week, Patch hosted two live chats, one with both Republican candidate Sean Bielat and Democratic candidate Joe Kennedy III. 3. 1. Today is Columbus Day, which is a holiday for some but not for others. 2. Town offices are closed today. 3. School is closed also. 4. There are no meetings tonight on the agenda for tonight, but the meeting schedule is sparse this week. 5. The Wellesley Raiders lost to Milton Friday night halting their winning streak at two games. They are 2-3 on the season.
