Wellesley Police ID Hit-and-Run Victim
The man hit in yesterday's fatal hit-and-run crash on Weston Road has been identified by police as a 41-year-old Wellesley man.
Wellesley Police have identified the Wellesley man who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Weston Street yesterday as Alexander Motsenigos.
According to a press release from the Wellesley Police Department, Motsenigos, 41, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital.
The cyclist was hit by a vehicle as both were driving northbound on Weston Road just before 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, according to a joint statement with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office published on the Wellesley Police Department’s website.
Wellesley Police Department spokeswoman Lt. Marie Cleary said police believe the vehicle was a red-and-black truck, last seen leaving the scene northbound on Weston Road.
Wellesley Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the department at 781-235-1212.
