Why can't the signals at the corner of Weston Rd and Linden St be regular working lights rather than walking lights. I live close by and walk my dog thru that intersection and have had many cars go thru the red light!..Let's do something--please

This sad event also serves as a two reminders: First for drivers: WATCH OUT for bicyclists - they are truly everywhere especially during the summer! Second for bicyclists - you MUST obey all traffic signs and signals; how many times have we seen bikers just run straight through stop signs and red lights. That's dangerous and it's against the law.

Let's just outlaw bikes and trucks. This is a sure fire way to guarantee this will never happen again...unless someone is unlawfully riding a bike or driving a truck. We can't stop outlaws.

Weston Road and Forest Street are two of the most dangerous roads in Wellesley...for the same reason...too narrow and too many curb cuts. I used to live off Weston Road, and observed many collisions. Unfortunately, I also saw two children riding bikes hit by cars on Weston Road. IT IS DANGEROUS!

This is not the bikers fault.. he was hit from behind by a murderer who left him to die as if he hit some squirrel... my friend was killed july 29 the same way...I have another friend in the hospital w a collapsed lung broken arm broken clavicle etc after being hit by a car... move over dammit! We can see hazards better than you. I really don't want to die broken in a muddy ditch.

Motor vehicle operators, please don't pass a cyclist unless there is enough space to do so safely. If a cyclist moves into the lane of traffic, please yield and give that person a few seconds of your patience. Yes some cyclists are just plain inconsiderate, some also break traffic laws. But there are critical reasons why a bicycle may need to occupy a traffic lane temporarily. While it's perfectly legal for a bicycle to be in a lane with traffic, it's not legal to pass a bike without giving a safe distance.

It's important to note that a bicyclist is legally ENTITLED TO a full lane, just as is a slow car or truck. Most bicyclists try not to take up a whole lane, but as Dulles says above, it can be more dangerous to try to be thoughtful than to insist on taking the lane for the bicyclist's safety.
