Train Honoring Vets Rolls Through Wellesley Today

The special MBTA train will ride through commuter rail communities over two months.

The MBTA/MBCR Gold Star memorial train will run through Wellesley commuter rail stations tonight.

The train will be at Wellesley Square at 7:12, Wellesley Hills at 7:16 and Wellesley Farms at 7:19, according to a spokesman.

The train is red, white and blue and covered in over 150 gold stars, each with the name of a Massachusetts serviceman or woman who lost his or her life in the Iraq or Afghanistan wars. The train was unveiled just before Memorial Day and will now travel across the commuter rail system for two months.

If you get a photo of the train traveling through Wellesley, please upload it here or email to wellesley@patch.com to share it with the community.

I am sorry I will not be able to be at one of the three stops this evening to see this wonderful way to honor our fallen veterans - hope someone will capture a great photo for the Wellesley Patch. Mary Bowers
