Selectmen to Discuss Possible Alcohol Licensing Changes
The Board of Selectmen will meet tonight to discuss potential changes to town liquor laws.
The Board of Selectmen will discuss a town vote that could have an effect on local liquor bylaws.
One of the agenda items on tonight’s meeting is titled “Town Election Ballot Questions – Alcohol Licensing Change.”
As decided at a 2011 Special Town Meeting, Wellesley will vote on whether the town should reexamine a bylaw that restricts the owners of restaurants with less than 100 seats from getting a liquor license.
Pending a “yes” vote, owners whose restaurants can seat between 50 and 99 patrons may be eligible to apply for a license.
The board will meet beginning at 6:30 p.m., though the first 30 minutes of the meeting will be in executive session.
