Question of the Day: Should There Be More Sobriety Checkpoints on Route 9?

Tell us your opinion in the comments.

This morning, Wellesley Patch reported the weekly police log, which highlights the arrests of the prior week.

In a typical week, there will be at least one arrest made of a driver on the portion of Route 9 that runs through Wellesley. Often there are arrests made for driving under the influence of alcohol.

In May 2010, Wellesley Police collaborated with the Massachusetts State Police on a drunk driving checkpoint on Route 9 at Lexington Road. The agencies arrested 10 drunk drivers in the span of four hours.

Though the police do a good job at monitoring Route 9, should there be more of these random, unannounced checkpoints in the area?

Wow1 10 drunk drivers in 4 hours,.Good job. Yes, when they can take that many "accidents waiting to happen "off the road , then It's worth it .
