New Art Adorns Old Rugged Bear Window
Sixth graders at Tenacre School painted self-portraits now viewable downtown.
The vacant window at the old Rugged Bear location has been filled with locally produced art in the last few months. This past week, self-portraits painted by sixth grade students at Tenacre Country Day School were hung in the space.
The sixth graders enlarged 6” x 9” photos to 18” x 24” prints and then worked with colors to create the works hanging in the window, according to a sign at the display.
Previously, sculptures from students at Wellesley College were displayed in the window. The window art is part of the committee attempting to revitalize the downtown square using art.
