MassDOT Calls Cedar Street Bridge Replacement the ‘New Normal’
Massachusetts Department of Transportation released a statement today.
Over the weekend the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) quickly completed the construction and replacement of the Cedar Street Bridge. Today, MassDOT released a statement referring to this type of quick-result construction as the primary method which it will use going forward.
The statement makes a contrasting reference to the inconvenience Wellesley drivers had to endure for years regarding the Route 16/9 overpass situation.
Here is the statement in its entirety:
The Cedar Street bridge project is part of what we call our “new normal” at MassDOT. We’re trying to get projects done with more efficiency and greater speed, while minimizing impacts to local traffic and inconvenience to our customers. I am sure that the people of Wellesley can appreciate this effort after the issues we had with the Route 16 overpass. We’re excited to show the results of our innovative construction practices and technology and are looking to do more of this type of work. We encourage feedback on what went right and on where we need to do better.
