March Right In to the Town Clerk for Dog Licenses
Town Clerk reports a number of dog owners have not yet registered, and the deadline is approaching.
Town Clerk Kathleen Nagle is hoping dog owners will march in and renew their pet licenses. Or mail them in, which is also an option.
Dog license renewals are due by April 1, 2013. A note from the Town Clerk's office indicates that of the 3,012 dogs who were registered in town last year, only 1,923 of them have been renewed.
From the note:
Owners may license in person at the Town Clerk's Office or by mail by sending a self addressed stamped envelope including: name, address, name of dog, breed, color, age, proof of current rabies vaccination and neutering certificate, if applicable. Renewals may also be done through the Recreation Department activity registration portal.
Registrations should be mailed to the Town Clerk's Office, 525 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02482.
The fee is $20 for male an female dogs, and $12 for pups who have been fixed (spayed or neutered). Failing to renew your dog's license can earn you a $25 fine.
