Lower Falls Detour to Continue Through End of Week
Workers need two extra days to complete construction, according to police.
The Wellesley Police Department will continue to keep in place the detour near 27 Washington St. for at least one more day, according to an alert.
Washington Street eastbound will continue to be closed and detoured at Walnut Street Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic will be diverted down Walnut Street and onto Washington Street in Newton. Westbound traffic will flow normally.
The detour was originally scheduled to end after today.
“Contractors need two additional days to complete the work on Washington Street,” according to the alert.
