Alan Khazei, founder and CEO of Be The Change, Inc. and founder of City Year, gave the commencement address at last night's graduation ceremonies at Mass Bay Community College for 582 graduates.
Khazei, a Brookline resident and candidate for US Senate in 2009-10, graduated from Harvard Law School in 1988 and founded City Year with his law school roomate. In 2007, Khazei launched the nonprofit Be The Change Inc., which creates national public awareness campaigns promoting citizen service, according to the Mass Bay Alumni Magazine.
