‘Issues and Experts’ Panel Discussion to Shed Light on Decision 2012
Local experts will take part in a discussion on the major points of the upcoming presidential election.
With the presidential election only six weeks away, a group of accomplished individuals with ties to Wellesley will shed some light on the major issues.
The discussion, Presidential Decision 2012: Issues and Experts, will take place at the Wellesley Library’s main branch Oct. 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
According to a press release, the panelists will be:
- John D’Auria, president of Teachers 21 and former Wellesley Middle School principal, who will speak on education;
- Maura Dalton Calsyn, director of Health Policy at the Center for American Progress Action Fund in Washington, DC, and a Wellesley High School graduate, who will speak on health care reform;
- John Ballantine Jr., senior lecturer at the Brandeis International Business School who will discuss energy policy; and
- Daniel Bergstresser, associate professor at the Brandeis International Business School who will focus on the economy.
The discussion will be moderated by Wellesley resident Alan Henrikson, professor of Diplomatic History and Director of Diplomatic Studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.
The event is sponsored by the Wellesley Citizen Action for Obama and the Wellesley Democratic Town Committee.
